After successful completion of the course, students are able to

- critically analyze a specific problem 

- choose a suitable procedure for further evaluation

- investigate individual aspects in detail

- draw conclusions and give reasons.

Projects in the field of waste management (e.g. landfill, incineration, composting, waste prevention, recycling, logistics) and in the field of the regional metabolism (e.g. resource management in construction, sustainable modification of urban systems, resources and environment protecting metabolism, development of substance balances as part of environmental impact assessment, life cycle analyses, concepts for nutrient and/or metal management).

Implementation of a Material Flow Analysis by applying the free software STAN (www.stan2web.net).

Submission of a project work.
