After successful completion of the course, students are able to name and describe the chemical basics required in civil engineering as well as the relevant chemical processes occurring in setting as well as corrosion processes and to carry out the associated simple chemical calculations.

Sollte aufgrund von Vorgaben der Bundesregierung bzw. der TU Wien die Abhaltung der Lehrveranstaltung und der Prüfung bzw. der Teilleistungen in Präsenz nicht möglich sein, wird in das online-Format gewechselt. Durch den Wechsel in das online-Format können sich die für die Präsenzlehrveranstaltung und -prüfung (-teilleistungen) angekündigten Termine ändern. Erforderliches technisches Equipment für die Teilnahme an Lehrveranstaltung und Prüfung:

• Gerät mit Internetzugang (Notebook, PC, Tablet, Smartphone)
• Für die Prüfung: Kamera mit Webfunktion (für Zoom-Meeting)
• Zugang zu TUWEL

Assessment criteria

• Maximum achievable points: 60
• Mininum points for a positive completion: 30

Exam arrangements

• Written exam, without assistive equipment except a periodic table of elements (which will be provided), no calculator and no mobil phone allowed
• Duration of exam is 90 minutes.
• Registration is obligatory until workings days before exam date. Use TISS system for registration.
• De-registering until 2 work days before the exam
• "No shows" risk to be excluded from the next exam date
• By accepting the exam papers, your exam will be evaluated.
• Please write legibly and clearly, otherwise points will be deducted.
• Insight into your completed exam is only possible with an appointment (via E-mail)
