After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain the advantages of the use of BIM (Building Information Modelling), explain basic BIM terms, name and describe the differences between an integral planning method and a consecutive planning method, distinguish, list and explain award models in the planning and execution phases, and understand and explain the basics of cost planning.
Furthermore, the students are able to describe the approach of the BIM-based material building fit developed at TU Wien and to describe the benefits achieved through its use.
Please address questions and concerns regarding the LVA to alexandros.ioannou-naoum@tuwien.ac.at
Attendance is compulsory for VO and UE!
Dates: PDF with exact dates via DOCUMENTS. Time slots of 1.5 hours per group are allocated for the correction appointments.
Information on the lecture part:
The lecture will be held in presence! Lecture with final written exam.
Information on the exercise part:
All correction dates take place in presence; the final presentation is also held in presence. The exercise takes place parallel to the lecture as group work in teams of 4. Groups will be allocated via TUWEL. Three groups are always supervised at the same time during the correction dates, which is intended to promote the exchange between supervisors and students as well as students and students.
All general information relevant to the exercise will be presented at the kick-off on Thursday 7 March from 13:00-16:00 following the first lecture. The individual exercises will always be presented directly after the lectures (see schedule/information sheet). Students then have 2-3 weeks (depending on the exercise) to complete it before the next correction deadline.
As both the assignments and information relevant to the exercises are always presented/presented directly after the lectures, attendance is compulsory for VO & UE!
For organisational reasons, registration for the course is only possible up to the specified date. Unfortunately, we cannot accept late registrations for organisational reasons.
BIM models will be made available to you this semester. These models will serve as the basis for the all exercise tasks.
The overall grade for "VU Planungsprozesse mit BIM" is obtained by taking into account the partial grades of the lecture exam (weighting: 30%) as well as the exercise (weighting: 70%), whereby the performance achieved in the corrections as well as the final presentation is evaluated. For a positive overall assessment, both the lecture examination and the exercise must be passed positively. The overall grade is transmitted in TISS.
