After successful completion of the course, students are able to technically formulate mechanical properties of materials with the focus on the modeling of kinematics, statics and kinetics of solid bodies and fluids.
Mechanical stress, deformations and strains, law of elasticity, elastic deflection curve. Hydrostatic uplift, resulting hydrostatic forces. Application of the principle of virtual displacements. Kinematics and kinetics of the mass point, the rigid body and of fluids.
Lectures including many numerical example problems.
