After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently carry out dynamic calculations of building structures under the influence of earthquakes (e.g. by means of Response Spectra), wind and engines.

Modal analyis of structures. Calculation of natural frequencies and mode shapes by means of numerical methods. Special problems of seismic excitation. Modal earthquake response spectra. Application to single and multiple excitation. Vibration isolation. Problems of design with emphasis on wind and earthquake excitation. Basic concepts of stochastic processes. Engine-induced oscillations.

Lectures including many numerical example problems.

All seminar units are made available by video and PDF documents on the day of the LVA from 13:00 a.m. in TUWEL and remain accessible to all registered students until the end of the semester.
