After successful completion of the course, students are able to analyse the present techniques of reinstatement, describe the guidelines for old buildings evaluation in terms of construction, understand and use the methods of re-dimensioning.
Building constuction aspects of refurbishing (construction, technology). Topics: characteristics of essential structural elements, analysis of load-bearing members, reinforcement of foundations, structural walls and ceilings, historic basis of design (up to 1918).

Prerequisite for the participation in the lecture exam is the positively completed exercise part. The result of the exercise is valid for one year from the deadline of the exercise. Consequently, the lecture exam must be completed during this period.
