Learning outcomes
After successful completion of the course, students are able to put the teaching content into practice, as eg. Weldability, welding processes (autogenous welding and similar processes, manual metal arc welding, MIG-MAG-welding, filler wire welding, TIG-welding, other welding processes (laser-, electron beam-, plasma-, stud arc-, cold pressure-, explosive-, magnetically impelled arc butt-, electro slag-, high frequency-, ultrasonic-, thermit-, friction welding)), cutting and other weld preparations, surface technology, abrasion and protective coatings), basics of electronic, the electric arc, welding power sources, welding positions and joint preparation, testing of welded joints, welding of corrosion and heat resistant steels and different materials, heat treatment of base materials and welded joints, basics of corrosion, demonstrations, defects of welded joints, design of welded and brazed structures, soldering and brazing, gluing, rivets, solidification and structure of weld metal, joining processes for plasics, joining processes for ceramics and composites, welding of unalloyed structural steels, high strength steels, application of structural and high strength steels, steels for cryogenic applications, corrosion and heat resistant steels, copper and copper alloys, production planning and control, welding documentation
