Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve computational exercises that require an understanding of the fundamental concepts of continuum mechanics and strength of materials. 

Subject of course

Stress tensor, strength criteria, strain tensor, principal of virtual power, work/energy/elasticity, basics of beam theory, loss of stability

The first exercise, including explanations on the organistation of VO and UE is scheduled for wednesday, 23rd October 2019. On wednesday, 2nd October 2019 and thursday, 3rd October 2019 there will be a VO instead of UE. More information on the schedule can be found in the calender, available in the download area.

Two written exams. In total, at least 50% of the points are required for passing.

Participation in the substitute exam is ONLY possible when missing one of previous two regular exams.
