Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to handle the nonlinear finite elements methods of structural analysis carefully. They can analyze structural systems and explain the structural behavior of building constructions.. Please note that this lecture is tought in german language, the lecture notes are written in german, and also the examinations (exercises and oral examinations) require advanced knowledge of the german language.

Subject of course

Axisymmetric solids under arbitrary loading, thick plates, thin shells, locking phenomena, stationary field problems, linear elastic fracture mechanics, nonlinear solution techniques, numerical examples.

Teaching methods

In 10 exercises, the application of the finite element program "ABAQUS" is practiced.
