After successful completion of the course, students are able to

• understand RDF statements and create valid RDF statements
• deliver independent contributions to open source projects
• work with Spring and Maven
• create simple bot applications

In this course, students learn to use and edit a bot application from an existing open source project, the Web of Needs.

Part 1:

• Talks presenting the Web of Needs and concepts used

Part 2:

• Setup of the project and a development environment
• Design Session for possible contributions

Part 3:

• Hackathon for building bots that provide services within Web of Needs

In the first part, the Web of Needs and necessary theoretical information are delivered in talks and presentation. Then, the provided application will be tested and students are asked to think about possible tasks for the Hackathon. In the third part, the suggested changes get implemented, with a focus on editing the provided bot.
