After successful completion of the course, students are able to...
- apply the basics and fundamentals of interface and interaction design in practice- gather and analyze needs and requirements of target user groups- design and develop a prototype using a user centered design process- iteratively refine, improve and expand the interactive prototype- present and communicate the design- and development process effectively.
This course is an adjunct to the course VU Interface & Interaction Design (183.289) and provides the opportunity to apply the acquired foundational knowledge in the areas of design and human computer interaction in a practical design project. The elaboration is done in small groups. The assignment is to develop a detailed design concept (consisting of a paper, interactive prototype and/or video) in a user centered design process. Regularly scheduled workshops throughout the course provide an opportunity for discussion and feedback.
Identifying a user group and gathering its requirements.Creation of mockups and wireframes to develop an interactive prototype from the concept stage.Iterative improvement and refinement of the prototype based on feedback from workshops.
