After successful completion of the course, students are able to create an application with a multi-sensory user interface using the Robot Operating System (ROS). They have experience with the selected sensors, actuators or displays and are able to design and implement hardware and software for interaction with the application.
First lesson will be held at the beginning of the semester to introduce the topic students should implement.
It will include a tutorial to understand how ROS works.
Alternatively or additionally documents can be made available, which introduce the specialized knowledge necessary for the own application.
After the tutorial, students have to implement the application. Suitable laboratory equipment is available for the implementation. Course leaders will be available by email and through the TUWEL forum to answer students questions and give appropriate feedback on their projects.
In the final phase, the application or prototype will be evaluated through:
- a short document summurazing the work done
- a short proof of concept video demonstrating the results
- a short oral to present the project
ECTS Breakdown - 1.5 ECTS ~ 37.5h
