After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply fundamental knowledge on human perception and interaction supported through scientific methods and design techniques. Students learn to analyse the qualitity of interaction design as well as the method-driven and structured development and evaluation of individual ideas towards mature concepts. Thereby fundamentanl knowledge and skills are acquired to guide, to analyze and to critically reflect the design of technology.
The course conveys technical and methodogical Knowledge about the design of interfaces and interaction, the investigation and creation of design-variants, prototyping and usability-tests, relation and distinctions to software engineering.
Conveyance of fundamental knowledge:
Conveyance and practice of abilities and skills relating design processes:
Interface & Interaction Design conveys methods and knowledge for the design of interactive systems. The design-process is adressed through the percpective of various disciplines. The content comprises technical basics, organizational procedures and the psychological aspects of user interfaces and user interaction.
The presented methods are oriented on their usability within design processes. Social science methods supports the integration of human requirements and needs. Design-oriented methods support practical, iterative work.

The introductory lecture takes place on the 8.10.
In case of important questions please contact the head of the lecture - Peter Fikar
The final compulsory proof of performance is given by the individual and independent analysis, discussion and (re-)conception of an examplary design based on the learned content (written exam).
The overall assessment is based on the following ECTS-Breakdown:
