  1. find and critically read academic peer reviewed literature
  2. identify a research gap
  3. articulate a research question and position it in relation to state of the art
  4. plan a program of research
  5. write academic papers demonstrating knowedge of conventions in the chosen research area
  6. critcally review papers submitted to publication

 

Subject of course

We will use standard lists of skills and knowledge areas needed by PhD students to identify particular topics to focus on.

Small group discussions; reflection based on hands on work
