After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the concepts of telemedicine in health care. The lecture covers typical theoretical basics, concepts, requirements, and systems of telemedicine.
During the lecture, the most important concepts of information systems in health care will be gradually introduced and discussed:
Based on this foundation the lecture will present specific telemedicine projects to produce a practical reference to the mediated theoretical contents.
Parallel to the lectures an accompanying exercise will be held in which the topics discussed during the lecture are to be substantiated. During the exercise, student-groups will analyze used cases and architecture of a specific telemedicine application. An exemplary implementation of the findings completes the exercise.
The research group provides competent engineering perspectives. For this lecture this means: provide the necessary technical basis, definition and delineation, guidance for situational research, presentation of real, often large case studies as part of the lecture, independent development, testing and experience in the lecture adequate concept formation, sub-projects and applications in the field of telemedicine as part of the exercise.
