After successful completion of the course, students are able to implement specific algorithms discussed in the lecture Medical Image Processing. Furthermore, the students are able to perform data analysis using these algorithms.
Solving medical imaging tasks in MATLAB, e.g.: generation of shape- and appearance models. (Model-based) segmentation of anatomical structures, texture analysis applied to bone structures, vessel detection, localization of anatomical structures
The course includes the implementation of two exercise examples. The students have to implement methods and have to carry out experiments for the data analysis of medical image data with the help of the implemented methods and document both the implementation and the empirical evaluation. During the supervised exercise sessions, the students are supported in the development of the algorithms.
The lab exercise is coordinated in TUWEL.
Submission of 2 successfully implemented and documented practice examples.
