- properly structure and write their master thesis proposal 

- properly prepare a research presentation describing results of their master thesis. 

 

The seminar in 2020S is cancelled for the reason that this seminar is compulsory and recommended only for students who defend their master thesis after November 2020! Hence, the 2020S seminar is not needed and will not be offered. 

The seminar in 2020W will however take place - details will follow in time. 

Inhalt der Lehrveranstaltung

This seminar involves the following tasks:

  1. Presentation and discussion of the Master thesis proposal (10 min + 10 min discussion). Based on the received feedback, students should be able to develop a sound and coherent proposal (Diplomarbeitsanmeldung) of their master thesis.
  2. Seminar presentation of the most important results of the Master thesis (20 min + 10 min discussion). After this presentation, using the received feedback, student should be able to prepare a convincing presentation to be eventually presented within their Master thesis defense.

The seminar will start with an introductory lecture given by the lecturers (foundations of scientific working and how to present a scientific paper).

Methoden

The seminar will consist of individual meetings with student and in-class presentations of students, presenting results of their master thesis. These presentations are meant to train and support students in revising the talks of their master thesis defense.

The seminar is mandatory (and recommended) only for students finalizing their master studies after 2020 November.

Therefore, the seminar in 2020S is cancelled and will not be offered.
