After successful completion of the course, students are able to discuss critically kinetics of a catalytic reaction which takes place on the liquid-solid interphase as well as to conduct calculations of micro- and macrokinetics.
Transition to the renewable resources results in an increasing importance of heterogeneous catalysis in multiphase systems.
This teaching course will focus on specifics of catalysis on a liquid-solid interphase, micro- and macrokinetics, structural changes of solid catalysts under the reaction conditions, potential catalytic activity of leached species, ex situ and operando methods for exploration of multiphase reactions, and employed reactors.
PowerPoint presentations, questions from the audience are welcome, questions to the audience as well as exercises for revision.
Written Exam
Basic knowledge on catalysis, chemical kinetics and thermodynamics are advantageous.
