Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to evaluate, intrantiate and reconcile measurement results from laboratory facilities with what they have learned from the lecture Wirbelschichtechnik. Furthermore, students can better assess the potential but also the limits of the application of fluidized bed technology.

Subject of course

The following contents are treated or demomstrated(examples):

Mean surface/volume particle diameter, porosity, Geldart Classification,minimum fluidization velocity, terminal velocity, gas distributor, bubbling fluidized beds, solids mixing, heat transfer, circulating and multi stage fluidized beds.
