Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to accomplish a small scientific project under supervision. They are able to carry out the necessary practical activities independently and to obtain necessary background information about the project. Students can apply the working methods used during the project work to analogous problems and explain the theoretical basics of their project. They can write a report about a scientific project that goes beyond a laboratory protocol.

Subject of course

Carrying out a project work on the selected topic under supervision and writing a bachelor thesis. The basic methods of technical-scientific work will be taught with special attention to the selected project.

Teaching methods

Students are assigned small projects, mostly from the subject area of existing research projects (diploma theses, dissertations, projects), which they carry out under the guidance and supervision of the corresponding diploma students or doctoral candidates or PostDocs (direct supervisors). The theses are written in coordination with the direct supervisors and are evaluated by the professor or assistant who supervises the project.
