After successful completion of the course, students are able to setup mass and energy balance for ideal reactor models as stirred tank reactor, plug flow reactor, stirred tanks in series as well as reactor combinations and to apply calculation methods for creating kinetic data from Lab-scale reactors and to determine residence time distribution models for ideal and real reactors
Preparation of material and energy balances for combinations of ideal reactor models, complex reactions, introduction to reactor design, performance comparison, multiple-reactor systems, laboratory methods to determine kinetic data (analysis of the complete rate equation, differential and integral method), differential recycle reactor, residence time distribution of fluid in chemical reactors for real reactor models, dispersion model, tanks in series model, multi parameter models, energy balances for isothermal and adiabatic operations in ideal reactors ( unstable state), basic example for heterogeneous reaction.
