After successful completion of the course, students are able to generate an abstract for a prentation, to plan and design the presentation, and finally to perform the presentation. Moreover, discussing presentations of others will be trained.

Design and delivery of scientific presentations is trained by the example of the of the diploma thesis. A presentation of 20 minutes is given. Rethoric aspects, layout of slides, concept of the presentation are analyzed in group discussion. Presentations are recorded on video and handed to the student.

Information on the procedure in WS2022

• The seminar will be held in presence mode in WS2022, virtual participation via zoom is possible but limited (passive audience only)
• Registration to the seminar via TISS
• WS2022: Generally scheduled wednesdays 11-13h
• Participation in a seminar session will be logged automatically only for registered participants
• Actual schedule and registration for a presentation time slot via TUWEL (for registered participants only)
• For presentation, a device is required (laptop/notebook,...) which must support the usual HDMI-output plug (type A, 13.9 mm wide)

• participation in introductionary lecture E3
• participation at 7 presentation dates minimum (at least 4 in presence)
• delivery of the abstract: min.1000/max.1800 characters incl. spaces (text without title), latest 2 days before presentation, via TUWEL
• performing the presentation (min. 15/max. 20 minutes)
• at least 3 discussions of presentations, addresssing a specific aspect of presentation technique ("Feedback")
