After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe selected inorganic-technological processes and their respective underlying chemical-technological principles, including raw material production, classical inorganic synthesis processes, metallurgy, ceramics, and inorganic building materials.
Specific features of chemical technology, Material flow RAW MATERIALS: Ore processing, technical gases, water, salt ... INORGANIC INDUSTRIAL CHEMISTRY: Production of chlorine, sulphur, nitrogen, phosphorus and their compounds; fertilizers. METALLURGY: Iron and steel; non-ferrous and refractory metals CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS / GLASS / CERAMICS.
The course contents are conveyed via classroom lectures. The presented slides are provided electronically before start of the course. In addition, representative showpieces are presented during lectures, if suitable.
The learning outcomes are evaluated via a written exam consisting of 6 questions with 10 points each, for which 90 minutes are available. The exam is positive if minimal 5 questions were answered (>2 points) and a total of >30 points were reached. A list containing all possible questions is provided.
Ort: Wird gemeinsam mit der VO "Chemische Technologie anorganischer Stoffe" abgehalten.
