This course is in at least 1 assigned curriculum part of the STEOP.

2021S, VO, 2.0h, 3.0EC, to be held in blocked form

Properties

  • Semester hours: 2.0
  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: VO Lecture
  • Format: Online

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand the sintering behaviour of metallic materials and to predict to some extent from the constitution as well as to reconstruct the sintering process based on metallographic sections.

Subject of course

Sintering mechanisms (solid state, liquid phase, supersolidus ...); practical use of liquid phase sintering; relationships to phase diagrams

Teaching methods

Presentation of the contents by ppt, the files being available to the students in TISS. Free questioning by the students as well as questions to the auditorium by the lecturer. Presentation of representative samples

Mode of examination

Oral

Additional information
