Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to evaluate chemical, analytical and mechanical examination methods for materials. The student can select the optimal investigation techniques in case of problems.

Subject of course

Analytical methods, used for characterization of materials will be described. Metallographic methods: Sample preparation (cutting, grinding, polishing, etching), investigating the microstructure (optical and electron microscopy). Measuring of material properties, ...
