After successful completion of the course, students are able to describe spinning processes for synthetic and natural polymers. Students know about the economic importance of the fiber and the downstream industry.
Statistics, Fibers and Yarns, Fabrics, Spinning process of man-made-fibers, Requirements on fiber forming polymers, Spinnability of liquids, Fiber forming process, Spinning of solutions, Melt spinning, Stretching, Crimping of drawn fibers, fiber properties, fiber analysis, recycling and circular economy.
Discussion of manufacturing processes
Should it not be possible to hold the course and the examination in presence due to requirements of the federal government or the Vienna University of Technology, the online format will be used. Switching to the online format does not change the dates announced for the face-to-face course and examination. The examination mode is the same for online and face-to-face examinations (presentation).
Elaboration and holding of a presentation on a fiber-relevant topic; answering questions of students or supervisors.
