Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

    • determine elements in a sample using EDXRF
    • determine the elements in a sample using WDXRF
    • quantify a liquid sample using TXRF
    • determine the mass absorption coefficient experimentally
    • characterize Crystal phases of a powder sample with XRD
    • characterize thin layers with XRD and GIXRF+XRR

1. Energydispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (ED-XRF)

2. Wavelength dispersive  XRF (WD-XRF)

3. Quantifizierung einer flüssigen Probe mit Totalreflexions XRF (TXRF)

4. Experimentelle Bestimmung des Massenabsorptionskoeffizienten

5. Röntgendiffraktion (XRD) von Pulverproben

6. Charakterisierung von dünnen Schichten mit XRD und Grazing- incidence XRF (GI-XRF) + Röntgenreflektivity (XRR)

 

Teaching methods

after an introduction students perform measurements by their own using the instruments available, interpret the results and document them.
