Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to:

  • discuss about basics in radiation physics
  • explain special topics of ionising radiation
  • recapitulate why and where radiation physics is used for
  • summarize one special topic beeing explained by invited lectures

  • presentation on differnt filds of radiation physics by experts (e.g.: CERN, BESSY, MA 39, DLR, Uni Wien, ...) 
  • discussion upcomming technologies in technic and medicine
  • excursion to typical sites where ionising radiation is used (e.e.: AKH Wien, MedAUSTRON, IAEA, AIT, AGES, BEV, SMZ-Ost, KH Hietzing, ...)
