Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to explain necessary requirements for superconductors with high transition temperature, to describe the relation between flux pinning and critical currents, to list the most important high temperature superconductive materials as well as to explicate their properties, fabrications and applications. They know about the problematic of using supercoductors at high operation temperatures and are able to participate in the discours of the actual reasearch in this field.

Teaching methods

Presentation of relevant knowledge. Discussion among the students, repeating under consideration of the students' feedback. Establishing a connection to recent and ongoing scientific work.
