Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to master basic lab techniques and methods, as well as data acquisition and analysis. The underlying scientific question of the project, the location in the "bigger picture", the chosen methods and the obtained results can be argued (mostly in the form of a brief written report).

Subject of course

This includes: Experiments with laser cooled atoms, slow light, storing light, spectroscopy techniques, laser physics, various particle traps, imaging techniques, image processing, process control, precision measurements

Teaching methods

Hands-on (supervised) lab work.

Mode of examination

Written and oral
