Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to comprehend the materials presented in the lecture and to draw conclusions from them, as well as to actively communicate the contents presented during the lecture.

Subject of course

Various coatings are deposited by evaporation and sputtering. The films are characterized in respect to their optical, mechanical and structural properties.

Duration: 2.5 days

Day 1: Start : 09:00, Meeting point: Office Eisenmenger-Sittner, Freihaus 7th floor yellow. Introduction into Vacuum Technology and the handling of deposition plants and measurement devices. First autonomous experilents. End : 16:00

Day 2: Start 09:00 Deposition and characterization of siongle- and multilayer coatings by then participants: End: 16:00

Day 3: Start 09:00. Final experiments, Documentation of the performed work. End: 14:00
