Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

  • find, collect and prepare relevant literature on the topic of the Bachelor's thesis,
  • to systematically carry out practical or theoretical investigations within the framework of the methods learned during the course of study,
  • ask a scientific question and draw conclusions from literature research and own research, and
  • to summarize this work in a scientific report.

Subject of course

The bachelor thesis is carried out individually, under the guidance of a supervisor. The Bachelor's thesis comprises practical and/or theoretical work as well as the preparation of the actual Bachelor's thesis, i.e. the written summary. This can be supplemented by attachments in text form or other formats (computer program, data record, etc.).

Teaching methods

Independent scientific work in geodesy and geoinformation in consultation with the supervisor:

  • Discussion with the supervisor about planned and implemented work steps.
  • Literature research, experiments, simulations, etc., according to the topic of the bachelor thesis
  • Critical examination of one's own work and discussion of the findings with the supervisor, discussion of any problems that may have arisen.
  • Structuring and Formulation of the Bachelor Thesis
  • Discussion with the supervisor's suggestions for correction or improvement

Additional information

The bachelor thesis has to be presented and defended in front of experts in the field during the course “Presentation of the Bachelor Thesis”.

The seminar will be held in presence. Upon prior notice, individual sessions can be held in distance learning mode if required by the circumstances.
