After successful completion of the course, students are able to...

• create spatial databases;
• query data stored in a spatial database;
• combine a spatial database with the Geoserver and the Open-Layers Plugin to implement a GIS in a given project context.

The topics covered in this lab are closely related to those presented in the lecture (see there for an overview). Having said this, students are required to submit a project work by mid of January; while autonomous project work is of major importance for this lab, a doctoral student will help to solve issues arising on a regular basis during the lab sessions.
