  • Credits: 3.0
  • Type: VU Lecture and Exercise
  • Format: Hybrid

Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to select suitable remote sensing data for different tasks in urban areas and forestry, to apply the requried algorithms for deriving the results, and to interpret and validated the obtained results.

Subject of course

Theoretical introduction in a few specific topics, such as, for example, applications of remote sensing data in urban environment and in forestry. Thereafter, work on your own by carrying out practical examples in the two afore mentioned fields. Final presentation of the results, including discussion. Technical report, which describes in details the practical work.

Teaching methods

  • oral presentation
  • lecture slides are provided as handouts
  • Introduction to exercise
  • Practical exercise in groups of max. 3 students
  • presentation of the exercises by the student groups
  • feedback to exercise resutls, report and presentation

Mode of examination

Immanent
