After successful completion of the course, students are able to independently apply and implement simulation based and computerintensive methods using the statistical software R to solve complex statistical problems.
Generation of Random Numbers, Simulation, Jackknife, Bootstrap, crossvalidation, testing via resampling methods, Bayesian sampling with MCMC.
The idea of the Hybrid format is to provide the lecture as video material, but offer support for the exercises during the "presence" time in smaller groups which we be held at the TU location, as long as we are allowed to do so. This should create an atmosphere for asking questions and individual support, but will not be mandatory for everyone as only a maximum of 30 students will be allowed at any given time.
Regular usage of R on the own laptop.
