After successful completion of the course, students are able to to grasp basic concepts of statistics and probability theory and to decribe simple data sets and analyse them using the statistical software R.
Introduction to probability theory, statistics (estimation of parameters, confidence intervals, hypotheses testing, normal distribution, nonpararametric methods, chi-square test, contingency tables, one/two-way analysis of variance, simple regression.

Due to the COVID infection situation, there may be changes in the holding mode.
Written exam.
Exam duration is 2 hours (120 minutes). Lectore notes with handwritten comments can be used as well as a basic pocket calculator (without internet connection) can be used in the exam. For the exam only the privided paper is to be used.
It is emphasized that after registration a late deregistration is only possible by giving written notice. Without written notice the candidate will be barred for at least the next exam.
