Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to

  •  evaluate and classify different solution concepts for game-theoretical problems
  • formulate games, model them and apply suitable solution concepts
  • conclude solutions to decision-making problems with more than a single decision-maker
  • justify strategic thinking and acting

 

 

Subject of course

zero-sum games, saddle point, minimax theorem, combinatorial games, Nash-equilibrium and refinements, inperfect and incomplete information - Bayes games, cooperative game theory, evolutionary game theory, differential games, bargaining theory, theory of auction, possibly mean field games.

Teaching methods

In the exercises, examples that explain, enhance, deepen and expand the lecture are treated.

First meeting at Mon Oct 4, 2021, 1:30 p.m. online TUWEL ZOOM.

In the winter semester 2021/22, this course will only take place online at TUWEL via MOODLE Lektionen and online tests (we will definitely never meet in the seminar room).

Examination modalities

In the course units of the type UE, the students realize explanatory, illustrative and in-depth examples (approx. 40) partly under supervision (via TUWEL lessons) and partly independently. The elaboration of selected examples (planned 5-6) forms the basis of the assessment.
