Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply the most recent methods of universal algebra to problems in this field as well as to problems in the area of theoretical computer science.

Subject of course

We will concentrate on "Minimal Taylor Algebras as a Common Framework for the Three Algebraic Approaches to the CSP", an article published by Libor Barto, Zarathustra Brady, Andrei Bulatov, Marcin Kozik und Dmitriy Zhuk. The article deals with with the structure of finite algebras which satisfy non-trivial equations and which have the property that no algebra with less term functions satisfying non-trivial equations.
