After successful completion of the course, students are able to solve problems of planar and spatial geometry with standard methods. The students recognize relations to computer graphics, vision and image processing. The students get to know the main geometric properties of curves and surfaces and examples relevant for applications.
The lecture provides basic principles in different areas of geometry, which are important for applications in computer science such as computer graphics, computer vision and image processing. The following areas are treated taking in consideration application in the above mentioned fields: 1. Elementary Analytic Geometry, 2. Projective Geometry (homogeneous coordinates, projective transformations, quadrics), 3. Differential Geometry (curve theory, geometry on surfaces, curvature theory of surfaces, numerical aspects).
.
The course will take place from 10:15 - 11:45.
