Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to know and present the basic theory of rate-independent processes, as well as their connection with the modeling of quasistatic evolutions in continuum mechanics.

The first organizational meeting is on March 6th, at 10am in the library room on the 6th floor, in the green area (right in front of my office). Further details on the room will be published on TUWEL.

Please notice that from March 13th onward the class will take place on Mondays in the library room on the 6th floor from 9:15 to 10.

 

 

Subject of course

The seminar is based on the book "Rate-Independent Systems: Theory and Application", by A. Mielke and T. Roubicek

Teaching methods

The first two introductory classes will be taught by E. Davoli. Afterward, each student will present a portion of the book.
