Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to understand quantum interferometry using photons. The students know the formalism of ladder-operators of the quantum mechanical oscillator as well as coherent and squeezed states. The students know phase-space-function like the Wigner formalism or the Q-Function.

Subject of course

phase space, photons, Wigner functions, coherence, interferometry, coherent states, harmonic oscillator, coherence functions, Mach-Zehnder, beam splitter, complementarity, entanglement, bipartite systems, squeezed states, visibility, uncertainty relations, quadrature operators

Influence of gravitation on quantum waves, phase-space functions
