Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to apply topological concepts. Advanced topics in topology as duality theory of locally compact groups Stone-Cech compactification and applications to Ramsey theory. Basic knowledge of topological conceps as covered by Analysis 2, resp 3 is assumed.

Subject of course

Advanced topics in topology as duality theory of locally compact groups and Ramsey theory.

Teaching methods

By usig topological methods we prove theorems - partially in other felds of mathematics - and so illustrate the power of topological methods.
