After successful completion of the course, students are able to correctly apply the central concepts and computational techniques of the course. This includes the ability to understand and to explain these concepts and techniques. The following topics are included:
Real and complex numbers, elementary vector calculus and geometry, sets and functions, limits and convergence, sequences and series, functions of a real variable, differential- and integral calculus for functions of one real variable.
In class the notions, concepts and methods of the above-mentionend mathematical topics are motivated, explained and illustrated through examples. Lecture notes and suitable textbooks should be used in addition.
The course is begins on October 4th and ends on Dezember 22nd.
The exam is in writen form. One has to solve problems and answer questions concerning theory.
Use Group Registration to register.
Lecture notes will be available for download.
Sound knowledge of mathematics at the level of higher school education (Matura).
In case of existing deficiencies we recommend the Angleichungskurs Mathematik der TU Wien.
