Learning outcomes

After successful completion of the course, students are able to conceive captivating scientific presentations in an efficient way and perform them in front of lay audiences - focussing on suspense curve and interaction and coping with nervousness.

- Simplify without loosing the main point - Know your audience - Handling anxiety and nerves - Preparation process for a talk - Powerpoint: DO's und DONT's - Stage appearance, body language, breathing (with video feedback) - How to connect to the audience - Interactivity - Live experiments - Unconventional science communication

spontaneous excercises, detailled feedback, group activities, "field work:" science communication with children and teenagers
